On May 20, 2020 Wink announced they will begin to charge for cloud access. Leviton customers have been asking Technical Services what options they have for their Z-Wave products. The Z-Wave technology is a standard leaving users with a wide array of options. The Leviton Viza RF and Decora Smart Z-Wave products can be used with any hub that carries the Z-Wave logo. Note a hub is always needed when using Z-Wave technology, the hub provides the app and cloud access. No Leviton branded app can be used with Z-Wave devices. To ensure a hub is certified you may browse to the Z-Wave Alliance web site and review their list of controllers and hubs.
Transitioning to a new hub is easy. It is recommended to start fresh installation with your new hub. Each Z-Wave device will need to be either factory defaulted or use the exclude function prior to inclusion.
